Bobo the Tiger
 

There was a news story a few weeks ago about a tiger in Florida named Bobo that got loose. Here are some clips (with some editorial licence taken) from the article, and a picture to go with them:

"Please, not to shoot Bobo, Bobo is scared right now. Bobo's not a killer, Bobo's not dangerous. Just call me to take him home."

David Hitzig, who was assisting the search, said Bobo can go for days without food and he is most likely more scared than hungry.

Two years ago, Bobo bit a woman on the back of her head and fractured her skull, police said. No charges were brought.

"You hear reports that Bobo's tame, but no wild animal is tame,".

Sipek and four other officials tracked Bobo in the infield, with Sipek calling out for him. At least three officers had tranquilizer guns.

"Twice they nearly captured him, but television helicopters flying in closer to videotape the scene spooked Bobo".

Officials warned anyone who lives in the area of C Road and Okeechobee Boulevard to stay indoors and to immediately contact officials if Bobo is spotted. "Don't try to scare him or out-brake him", Puz said.

"I'm worried that the wrong person shoots Bobo," said Ansley, "Bobo is fast. He'll scare the heck out of you."

When the sun gave way to night, police set up a wider perimeter to wait out Bobo. "There's a good possibility he may get tired and go home," Puz said.

John Magierowski, who owns 15 acres across the canal from the track, said he can hear him growling in the night.

"I hope they get him before tonight," Magierowski said, "before he gets too hungry."

Bobo quick. Bobo get pole, and go win races. Bobo no run off of track.

What's with that ex-Tarzan guy? In the full article, he actually talks like Tarzan, even though he was in the show like 40 years ago. And his wife/girlfriend, who played Jane with him, also talks like Tarzan. Maybe it's an everglades thing.
