What about hanging some F-16 style fuel pods of the side of the car? If nothing else I would bet that there would be some very clean racing (i.e. not bumping).

Or may be a five gallon can in the drivers lap. Who am I kidding. Any longer than 10 laps and I would throw up in my helmet.
