Re: Club at Lime Rock Park Introduces Associate Membership

Absolutely not Bob. The goal has never been to make the track a closed private club. The Club is a component of funding the upgrades.
Skip said from the beginning that the tip in costs for The Club would be used for repaving and upgrades to the track and there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. The changes are being made to keep it relevant to the ALMS and other professional sanctioning bodies.

Those changes now in process are as big as any that have happened since Jim Vail broke ground for the place. With Turn 4, the Uphill and West Bend all having alternate configurations there will be many variations possible without losing the original footprint.

The affects of the alternate corners will be more passing opportunities, better racing and lower average speeds that could net out to lower crash damage numbers for everyone. No way to know for sure until everyone has run a full season on it.

The goal is for Lime Rock Park to still be a vibrant racetrack for its 100th anniversary. Can't find anything in these changes that work against that.

Does anyone out there think the changes are so the members will not dent their nice cars?
