Of course, they'll probably find a way to squander all the momentum they could gain from this announcement. They need to completely re-brand the entire sport and create very aggressive marketing campaigns and incentives to bring the fans back. Like the NHL did after their lock out, but 10000 times bigger.

Well, the IRL do have Danica in the SI swimsuit edition, maybe they could launch a marketing program from that. Or not.
