High Fives to many former Skip Barber drivers at COTA!

Bowdowns and a standing O to Stevan McAleer who jumped into his CJ Wilson Racing MX-5 in P4 with about 8 minutes to go and won the Grand Am Continental Tire ST class in his typical take no prisoners fashion. This was as good a redemption as you could ask for after a very early retirement at Daytona.

Kudos as well to Greg Strelzoff who started 28th in class after struggling in qualifying, put his head down and finished P8 in the ST class along with co-driver Connor Bloum. They were the highest finishing of the 3 Bimmerworld BMWs. Outstanding work as it was Greg's first full Continental race so he was learning both a new car and new track. Well done! (Greg also had an early retirement after a blown engine at Daytona)

We're so used to Spencer Pumpelly being on the podium that we never mention him anymore but he was P2 in GS with none other than screaming Dr. Jim Norman! Until recently Jim's been in a beautiful Audi R8. Guess it only did him good.

John Edwards finished P10 in GS with Matt Bell in the Stevenson Camaro. After qualifying P4. (John was sick and had no practice but still quallied 4th!) they had to do an engine swap and start at the back. They worked themselves back up to P4 but got punted off forcing a respectable but disappointing P10 finish.

Al Carter and Hugh Plumb were as high as P3 but had pit speeding penalties and other pit issues that dropped them back to P13 in GS in the Fall Line BMW M3.

Great to see so many Skippy brethren going fast.
