1.5 hour enduro kart race

Hey,

I have changed the date of the event. It is now on Saturday, March 31st at 10am. I moved it up one day to avoid scheduling conflicts. The event will cost $2700 for the two hour rental of the kart track. This comes out to $135/person if we have 20 people run and $123/person if 22 people run.

I hope the new date allows some more people to attend.

Here are the details from the initial post:

It will consist of 2 man teams. Obviously for me, it would be easier for people to come in as a team, but I'm sure we'll get some single people who we can hopefully team up with another single. Also, the option is there to have 3 man teams if you don't feel up to a 2 man team. It just reduces the amount of driving time you have and the cost for the team members.

We will rent the facility for 2 hours which will allow a short practice before the race and the practice will act as a qualifier as well. This will cost $2700 for the 2 hours. Depending on how many teams and people we have, the cost will fluctuate. Here are some numbers to consider though. There is a max of 11 teams allowed to enter due to spare kart availability.

Question Re: 1.5 hour enduro kart race

Ari:
Rather than be on the hook for all those dollars, why not just tell the OTK guys we will show up with at least 10 drivers and pay $15 per session? It would be easier and you won't get stuck with the bill if guys don't show.

Just a thought.

Re: 1.5 hour enduro kart race

Bob,

The whole reason I set this event up was to do a team endurance race. Anyone can show up at OTK and just do "qualifying" sessions. Personally, I'd rather race and I think a team event will be fun. Of course, it will be cheaper if we share the facility with the general public and just do public sessions but I'd bet it wouldn't be as much fun as doing this endurance race. I'm also sure that some people who will run in the endurance race will remain to run some public sessions, so if you don't want to participate in the race itself, you can show up after and still get to be on track with some people you know.

We'd love to have you join us in the race, but it's your choice. Hope to see you there!

Re: 1.5 hour enduro kart race

If I don't get any responses by today, I'm going to have to cancel the event. There will still be several of us going to On Track on March 31st. Oldman is getting his wish and we will run in our private sessions if we can't get enough people for the endurance race. Please let me know by today if you are interested.

Re: 1.5 hour enduro kart race

The endurance race is now CANCELLED!!!! There were not enough people who wanted to race. We can still do what Bob wanted to do in the 1st place. It will not be as much fun as the endurance race but I talked with OTK and they will more than likely allow us to actually race instead of just try for fast lap times. We still need at least 10 people to get the special rate of $15/person/race. This will still happen on saturday, March 31st.

Ari, thanks for your efforts on this project. It is not for lack of desire that I cannot attend. The high school where I teach has Saturday classes, and we also have Saturday sports, so both of those make March 31 out (as well as any other Saturday from now until school ends in early June).

As mentioned earlier I'm in Florida with the family. Otherwise I'd be there.

Re: 1.5 hour enduro kart race

Pat I know you'll be out of town. Ted, I'll take your saturday issues into consideration next time. I would still like to do an endurance race, maybe I'll just have signups for 2 months and I'll make personal visits to get people to go.

Angry Re: 1.5 hour enduro kart race

I thought this was at 10:00! That's what the original post said. I even asked in a later post if we we're still on for 10:00. What's going on? I told everyone I know to be there at 10:00!!!!!! What do I do now?

Bob

Re: 1.5 hour enduro kart race

Bob,

I am sorry about the time. The original event was scheduled for 10am as we were renting the facility, however they do not normally open until 11am on saturdays, so I had scheduled our racing for 12pm. I apologize because I forgot to post the new start time.

Also, I didn't check my phone number when I posted. If you still want to talk now, my number is 516.695.7224

Re: 1.5 hour enduro kart race

Bob,

From the looks of this thread can we assume you were running a cones course in the parking lot with your friends and their street cars?
