Ok, first off, happy new year. Second, vote for me. As many of you know, I love aerobatic airplanes as a 2nd love to racing. One of my favorite airplanes is the Yak 54, a Russian built 2 place aerobatic wonder. Big, heavy, and yet nimble. I love the colors on it too. A young friend of ours in the airplane industry knows this and designed me some paint schemes. Can you help here? I normally don't try to mock up a helmet after something so this is a first for me too. Thanks guys/gals.

The last one you posted ("one more......") is you, buddy. That IS the Duke Sanford / Chester Copperhead / MegaWatts special. Looks like THE helmet a good ol' old-school All-American barnstormin' lasso-ropin' bushhawger like you would come stormin' by in....
(However if you're thinking modern/sleek, then #1. but I like the other.)

The last one looks a little too Evil Knievel for my money (Unless that's what you're looking for) and there aren't any stars on the plane shown. I'm with Jim... The 3rd or 4th gets my vote. Like 3 better than 4 of the group of 4.

Man, that could be.... very good eye. Something tells me Jim and I were still trying to a BB Gun on the black market and playing with a rubik's cube in that era though....

This is an RC plane, but it is an exact look of what the full scale bottom looks like. There are no stars, maybe 1 on each size of the rudder? He is 10 years old that is doing this and he was just trying to break it up some. There is a lot of blue, or a lot of yellow just above the visor. I really wish I was good at like corel draw or photoshop to tweak these... thanks guys.

Actually, the stars over the visor reminded me of this guy:
That's MR. Stuck to you!

My input on the helmet design is the first design captures the colors and spirt of the plane IF you make the blue darker. the light blue makes the first helmet a different look from the plane. The 2nd helmet would be more similar if blue was darker and then alternate the colors around the bottom. Plane is BwYwR, helmet is RwRwRwR.
So if you want to capture the plane, it is #1 or #2 with change to dark blue and for #2 alternate the color bands at bottom.
I was LOL at the picture in the pits.... first of all nick-nick captured on the side of the truck was a nice picture. The team that was captured is Bob Lee's Speed Shop from Fort Lauderdale. looks like they no longer race the Maverick. It was a mainstay for many years in SCCA Club racing with "For Sale" sign attached at every race. Also ran in lots of Sebring 12 hour races.
