Photo Driving to and from Mid Ohio

Mini getting on in miles - this milestone hit on the way back to CT... also, google maps put est driving time from Stamford, CT to Bellville, Ohio at 9.5 hrs. I made it in 8 hrs 15 min on the way there and back....seems odd to me their est would be so far off. I was booking along but not *that* fast

On the way out this Mayflower 18 wheeler was the best rabbit I have ever had - he must have been empty and had a ton-o-torque as he was hauling ass UP and over the mountains, I had to work on keeping up with him at times (see speedo pic). Since he had CB and I was tucked in behind him I felt very safe - my radar signature is a gnat compared to this rig, was saving me fuel as well, I was out of the throttle quite a bit being sucked along! When I saw his turn signal to exit after 1.5 hrs of this () I pulled up next to the cab, we honked at each other and shared thumbs up in approval, fun.

It takes us 8-ish hours to get from NW CT to NW PA on I-17/86, with stops. It can be done in 7hrs if hauling and only 1 stop. 8hrs 15min seems super fast to get to Mid-O, but you were probably on different roads.

Re: Driving to and from Mid Ohio

I think Google avgs for 55 mph, I just checked - 540 miles per goog door to door, done in 8.25 hrs = 65 mph avg.
I made two off and on stops, both pretty quick, fuel for car on one, fuel for me on another and one I-80 rest area splash and dash

Take off 20 minutes, avg goes to 68 mph, sounds right. Did long stretches at 80 mph. There were some miles of one lane
construction zones but traffic was light and we rolled thru them at constr. speed limits, usually 55. I also timed my departure
to miss rush hour in Westchester and Stamford, no traffic jams the entire drive, LUCKY! Avg was probably around 70, which
seems more than reasonable, had some very long stretches near 80, good wabbit huntin' ha a a a a a a
