hotel room in lakeville, ct next friday
anyone have a hotel room for lime rock that they are not using? i'm dumb enough to be trying now. 3 prep school parents weekends, a 450 person wedding, and a race weekend. i think i may camp out but i invited someone who can't camp out.

I'm using mine, but you can try the Locust Tree B&B in Canaan where I'm staying. They might have an extra room. I had to wait until someone cancelled to get my room for Fri for the reasons you noted. 860-824-7163.

Skippy's travel department put us in Birmingham Alabama... well, not quite, but somewhere in Mass.

I hope now. I'll find something, I'm on the waiting list for 6 dif't places. this is almost as bad as getting to the airport to fly international and discovering you don't actually have any tickets.(sound familiar anyone?)

There's always camping as you noted earlier...the weather's quite nice this time of year-- get your friend to expand their horizons for a night. The Locust Tree has a huge verandah...throw a sleeping bag out there and use their common shower in the morning. Or rent an RV for the weekend... All kinds of possibilities --be creative!! (easy to say from the comfort of my reservation)
your airport story sounds VERY interesting

Quality Inn in Torrington, CT. Just under 30 minutes away. Not the Taj Mahal but better than a 2 hour drive (I'm also in NJ)
Hey Jeff, let's have another duel like we had at Mont Tremblant

Have you guys looked in Great Barrington, MA.
About 30-35 min from the track and a great selection of restaurants. Plenty of places to stay.
Check it out. Much better than Torrington.

I'll second Rob's suggestion. Great Barrington much better for lodging, restaurants and topography.

Re: hotel room in lakeville, ct next friday
I GOT A HOTEL ROOM! I GOT A HOTEL ROOM! Locust tree called me just now after they got a cancellation.
THANK YOU HARSHA! 1ST ROUND ON ME FRIDAY NIGHT!
Speaks volumes of your week if getting a hotel room turns the whole day around. By the way, there is now 1 room left at the comfort inn in great barrington but it is a suite for almost $300.

Ari, I wouldn't get all excited. Doesn't the name "Locust" Tree concern you the least bit? You go from the illustrious Sharon Motor Lodge ( Flood Zone from Oct 2005) to a Locust something or another. I can pick you up in the middle of the night due to flooding but I draw the line if you become infested with bugs of any sort....

I have Harsha at the same place to help me out. Thanks for the concern though!
