OMG ! I miss all you guys SO MUCH !! Pat Daly called me yesterday, wondering if we were going to the reunion. I suppose we could make it...if we win lotto. I know Mur'd love to and I'd just be happy seeing everyone again. We're headed to Sebring next week (on the way to see the grandson) and I can't wait to hear what Todd's cooking up for this. Love you all...

Good Luck with that !!
Let me how it works out for ya
skippy needs to give us some format info. I signed up for the weekend, but no info from the top ! Hopefully they can do something
Ron.
Anybody interested in going to the 24 let me know.
Hey, Divina and Wally know how to shift, so they can join the School Car contingent and resume their too long interrupted duel. Add others who shift and the full fleets or RTs and School Cars could run, probably approaching 40 cars. We ran School Cars with RTs at Sebring in Nov 2003. JP and BW should test the School Cars as in the good old days - and race them too!
Just saw this thread. I'm used to going 9 knots now with a occasional drive in a rental car at 35 mph. So, I'd be pretty rusty...... however, I can still beat Divina!
Quentin sent this DVD in a while back, thought now was a good time to get some of it online. Image quality so-so, lots of interference from engine, but oddly the audio is very good. Matt Franc at the wheel, interesting how he's able to occasionally Hyperspace around the track with his speed shifts Guess that's where he got the nick name....ok ok

Hey Kids:
I'll be in the Sebring area Wednesday the 11th and Thursday the 12th of February. Is anyone interested in doing dinner and/or a couple of drinks?
Sebring reunion week is here so it's time to wake this thread back up.
Believe we have John Pew, Dr. Mike, Ron Yarab, Peter Tucker, Tom Goodhart, Michael Auriemma, perhaps Murray Marden, maybe Quentin or Lugnuts? Can't imagine Dom not being there. Ohh and the Griests will be driving school cars on the skid pad and in the parking lot. Where's John Mayes hiding? Did anyone call Jimmy Locke?
CDH, Dick Lippert, Bill Hammer and I won't be there.
It's breakin' my heart but know a good time will be had by those in attendance.
Please keep us informed with posts, pictures and videos of the action.

Do you know what day and time the big race is happening? Or are you getting your own group for the whole weekend? I'm an hour north, and if I make it down, I'd love to see you guys actually racing.

Re: Alumni Reunion
Sorry to miss the weekend and especially Race 1. The Franc-Duerson show must have been intense at the front, but Chris coming from 7th to 3rd only 7 seconds back is intriguing for tomorrow.
Many stories to tell to those of us at a distance.

Yes John, from results it appears there was another epic Duerson / Hazzmat battle, lead changes in later laps with Matt edging out Craig by a tiny margin at the stripe, great stuff
So who was playing the part of Peter Dannan? Jordan perhaps? Looks like fun for sure.

Don't know if all of you Skippy followers heard that European racing sensation Peter Dannan made his only North American appearance this weekend at Sebring. As you know he always puts on quite the show. He started last on the grid do to a mechanical in the alumni group and worked his way to the front in 2 laps on both Sat and Sunday. Being the class act that he is on Sat., he saw a bird with a broken wing in the hairpin and parked his race car and resuced the bird and performed wing surgery on the spot.( the little guy is doing fine and will be flying in no time.)What an exhibition. He took little Johnny Edwards under his wing for the weekend. The two were inseperable and I'm sure John-John is a better man for it. From the time he flew in on his private jet ", he created quite the buzz around Sebring, even taking part in the 12 hrs of Sebring bike race under an assumed name. WOW, what a weekend ! Full results to follow
Thanks to everyone that came to the Alumni event this past weekend!! Great weather, great driving and great stories were on-hand. Congrats to Matt Francfurter for beating Craig for the first time in his career, not once but twice... Now that you only weigh 143lbs. your unstoppable man!!! Let's have dinner in NY soon to get some meat back on your bones....
All the best to everyone, I can't wait for the next one
Next time I say we weight the cars so that they are all even, then we'll see what happens to those lap times !! Next race I'll try to be down to 233. I heard that engine cryin'every time I would exit the hairpin.
I guess that's why they invented those 500HP dirt cars !

Matt, Hope you've not been ill and had to quit drinking which would explain your large weight loss.
As others observe, two reasons men of a certain age lose weight are a new girl friend or to go faster in their race car - both very expensive per pound.

And yet, quite effective. Says something profound about our psychological makeup, doesn't it? Of which you are the acknowledged expert, John.

Really enjoyed getting back together with the guys. Great to see all. Even laughed about getting mauled in turn 17 by Auriemma,,, after he finally concluded that he was to blame for running over my right rear tire and getting launched.... Hey Michael, yes you do brake for 17 ..... or at least I do,,,, and yes the video did show that it was not just a "racing incident".... thanks for believing the camera, even if the reality was a bit fuzzy in the red mist of battle.... really wish you or marino would post the video,,, i would love to see...
Really sorry I had to back out of this event at the last minute due to a shingles outbreak on my face that has fused my right eye closed for the last three weeks. While I no longer look like a one man leper colony, I am still too incapacitated to drive my street car, not to mention an R/T 2000.
Looking over the entry list, it really sucks to have missed the weekend . . . . a LOT of old friends there I really would have like to have seen.
yes - video please - would make an interesting split screen juxtapostion to Hazzmatt and Quentin's interpretation of Turn 17 entry (short video from post #61 above).
Dr Mike, no cam on your car?

It was great to be a part of this event... if only on the fringes. The alumni races were a hoot to watch (and hear) and it was nice to meet many TJRs and put a faces with names.

Also believe JP will be at the Glen - at Spa now. Hope Sid will too. Wish I could - a favorite track - and with Don resuming, who knows what will happen next.
