New participant

I just joined the SkippyForums website and look forward to it. I have been racing with Skippy as a Masters for almost two years and really enjoy it. I was at VIR this past weekend. I have been interested in racing all my life. My uncle, Vic Geisen, from Cullman, Alabama, raced stock cars on short tracks (dirt) in the Southeast in the 1950s. He raced once at Daytona on the beach race in 1954 won by Lee Petty, and he won track champpionships at many places in Alabama and Georgia. Unfortunately, I did not get his ability, but I did get his passion about racing and finally gave it a try at Road Atlanta in July 2008.

I am a lawyer practicing in Birmingham. I plan to be at Road Atlanta again in July.

Hi Mike,

Welcome to Skippyforums.

How was your VIR weekend? Were you in the MX-5's or open wheel cars?

Hello Mike,

I too was at VIR this weekend, I don’t think that we met, I am also from Birmingham. If I can scrounge up the money I plan to participate in the Road Atlanta event as well. Hope to see you there!

Welcome to the Forum Mike!

Just because you are a lawyer, it is OK to be on this site! We allow all sorts of rabble on this site; Auto salespeople, telemarketers, televangelists and driving instructors. You will fit in just fine!

George

Re: New participant

thanks for the messages and encouragement, especially from George. I was in the formula cars at VIR -- didn't finish last, didn't spin or hit anything and made a couple of passes, so for me that was an accomplishment.
