FNG

Hello,

I'm a new forum member. I found you all by searching on Skippy School. I have a 3 day open wheel course coming up in May and was searching out whatever info I could find.

I have been driving my BMW E30 with various clubs in HPDE events for about 3 years and have always wanted to go to one of these schools. I may not ever end up racing, but I know my skills will improve tremendously.

I am a pilot for an airline based in Seattle Washington when I am not pretending to be Schumacher.

Ron

Re: FNG

Welcome Ron,

You're going to have a ball.

I'd suggest getting enough sleep in the days leading up to your 3-day, eat healthy and regular exercise will only help your cause. The days are long and you'll enjoy them and retain more if you're well rested and reasonably fit. As mentioned on other threads of this nature, having a change of clothes with you each day if it is warm or rain occurs is also a good idea. Reading Carl Lopez's book "Going Faster" will get your head in the right place going in.

It's a wonderful progression of exercises that may have you thinking about doing the 2-day advanced course before you've finished your 3-day. BTW... A high percentage of racers/instructors are pilots.

Re: FNG

Sounds like more good advice. I am doing just that. I just flew my last trip before the class (May 7-9 at Laguna) and am mentally preparing for it. I'm not surprised a lot of drivers are pilots, we seem to gravitate toward boats/planes/cars/and other machines of various types.

Cheers,

Ron

We'd love to hear how it went when you're done.
