When I was at the December weekend, there were so few drivers that there were separate qualifying sessions for each of the races in the (and I mean THE one and only) group. With two groups this past weekend at Laguna Seca there were separate qualifiers again. I am curious as to whether that is a feature limited to the Western Series and which will not be repeated this summer. Any word from those in the know?

Ted, my guess is that when they only have one or two groups and time is not an issue Randy creates some extra value for everyone by throwing in the extra qually when he can. Don't think it's an overall policy change. Just an optional extra because all the resources are in place and time permits it.

That's what I figured. Sort of like some occasions with small lapping day groups when we get a third session.

Working on the race report now. With the NATL season opener, the new website, PR events and regular daily duties, I've been absolutely swamped, even when working 11 hour days 7 days a week.

Regarding the schedule/layout I don't know officially since I'm not at the weekends, but I'm pretty sure Pat nailed it.
