2 years ago I stayed at the Country Inn and Suites. Very nice, higher-end, central to everything, underground parking for one flat fee of I believe $22 for the week. I booked it on Priceline, "named my own price" for $100/night ($50 less than going rate at the time). If you name your own price it is non-changeable and non-refundable, so make sure your plans are firm.

Oh, and while we're trading posts on this thread, you wouldn't happen to have any pictures of the particular bacterial culture that you said you thought my avatar resembles, would you? Quite curious actually!

LOL. As soon as I got home I looked up your avatar on Juicy. Once I saw your helmet in real life, the dragon was easier to make out. I think the problem was that you cut off the bottom of the dragon in the pic, took away the reference points of the body and rest of the legs for my mind to put together the whole image.
To my (weirdly warped) eye, your avatar looked like a histopathological slide of Candida albicans, a branching fungus. You see what you know (sort of).
BTW, my favorite superhero is Rorschach.

Oh I didn't mean my request to sound negative in the least, I was actually quite curious to see what this Ms. Candida Albicans looked like, I rather liked her name, but if she's really histopathological, she sounds way too similar to girls I've dated in the past! ;-)

Harsha, i am concerned that you have either corneal neovascularization or retinoschisis which is causing this "warped eye" you describe. When you are in Canada at Mont Tremblant, I am sure I can arrange a referral to one of our top retinal specialists that can not only diagnose and treat your problem for free but can do it all in french. I promise it won't hurt a bit - well, you might feel a little pinch.
I have stayed at a couple places in village, Lodge De le Montagne (sp?) and one of the Suites properties. They are OK, have all gone up in price a lot since I last stayed in village, 2003 I think. I'm not crazy about village properties, mainly because of all the gear I have to haul up and down from tight underground garages to room 2x a day. There are a lot of condos/time shares on mountain next to village, no experience with them but JLowe and others liked them.
Comfort Inn in St. Jovite last year, kind of a dump but good for CDHBRT - cdh budget racing team - will probably book there again. Last year DD looked into the Wyndham condos near old village, we had a Skip dinner in the complex and they looked nice, good if you want to share with a couple other drivers.
Lots of B&B's in St. Jovite if that's your style, never tried one.
I guess I'd better book a room eh?
Looking forward to it too much already

It's your thread, I figure you can hijack it any way you want. And besides, according to some people, I never met a hijack I didn't like.

Don't blame yourself, it's not you. You're really okay. Histopathology is coded for on the X chromosome. It's part of the package. You can't avoid it. In genetic terms, it's fully penetrant but variably expressive. The variably expressive part is what suckers us in: "Oh, wow, here's one that seems normal..."
As to whether all pretty girls look alike, you decide. Below I have attached headshots of Miss Albicans, Miss Aspergillus, and the one that will really rock your world, Miss Mucor. Tread carefully, you've been warned.

Your knowledge of ocular pathology is impressive. Wow. But alas, I fear a retinal specialist, no matter how expert, is no match for my condition. You see, it is not the eye that sees, it is the brain. The eye is merely a sophisticated little phototransducer. It's in the processing (and ENCODING ) where my wires are all crossed up. Sadly, I have been told by several top female experts that it is a terminal condition, inoperable. But I did have the foresight to sign up on the transplant list. Though even that is a little depressing. The waiting list is longer than I expected.
Which is what I've heard about getting in to see a retinal specialist in Canada.

Harsha - your level of humour absolutely amazes me - in a good way, of course .
As far as B&B's go, Christina & I have stayed at the Crystal Inn two years running - http://www.crystal-inn.com/ - great environment, very quiet, convenient location, cost effective ~ C$100 per night, great host and outstanding breakfast. This year, we are renting a cabin on the lake in the old village - also very cost effective, close to the track and other ammenities.
Crystaline? Start with a half? From website...book this room Slowhands
Absolutely! It's a definite from just the website front page that those folks are STILL grooving to the Age of Aquarius. Along with the "decadent" breakfast, I wouldn't be surprised if they also would be able to provide quality apres-track activities.
I'm staying there next time. F--- Priceline.

seriously, thanks GT, looks really nice and C$100 / night is a great price (Comfort Inn lowest is around USD $125). I don't have B&B experience. Are you in common areas with owners or is it just your...umm, space? How much contact is there with owners? Sound like great people...I am more concerned with reverse reaction
waking up in the amazonite suite might get the adrenaline going....

It's like you're staying in a friend's house. Bedroom and bath are yours (sometimes shared shower) rest of house is common area. But still nice, especially if there is a porch to relax on. Feels much more like home that a hotel. I much prefer B&Bs to commercial hotels. Much more character and atmosphere. And breakfast is included, so saves you that time and money. Nice to go downstairs and have breakfast waiting for you instead of feeling the pressure to run out somewhere.
Re MT, am definitely feeling the pull, Especially since you and so many other cool folks will be there. You particularly seem to be the glue that pulls a weekend together, sort of like you're the keeper of the Skippy flame in some way. (Must be carrying it around in your camera-- that's it, whoever you aim your camera at gets a dose of positive Skippy energy straight from the golden days of the 80's and 90's.) However, I have been thinking about a trip out of the country at that time. If those plans fizzle, then I will likely be there. Will know in the next week or so.
