Introduction

Hello everyone my name is Phil.

Well, I got started racing some years go with the Chicago Region of the PCA (Porsche Club of America). I ran in their track events and I also raced in the club racing series for some time,I even raced in the Chicago Historic Races. I have 911 Club Racer that I've been working on and hopefully will get that on the track soon.

I literally stumbled upon this site while just fumbling on the internet. I am a Union Tuckpointer by trade and as a another hobby I love doing woodworking (Making Furniture).

I don't attend as many events as I used to but I am now planning on devoting more time to my Passion of Motorsports!

Re: Introduction

Hi Phil,

Good to have you aboard.

Sounds like you have an affinity for fabrication and all things mechanical. Our current summer series masters champion (GregS) was a west coast Porsche club member who is now a devoted Skip Barber open wheel racer.

We welcome all racing enthusiasts here as all of us are in that group and most of us are past, present or future SB racers.

What kind of work are you doing to your club racer?

Pat

Re: Introduction

Hi Phil,

Welcome aboard! Give Skippy a shot. You will learn a ton and have a ball doing it. In addition to the formula cars, we also run MX5's which might be more similar to what you have been doing. I love the formula cars but also run the MX5's as they are more similar to my 911 that I run at track events and other closed wheel cars I race. You can't go wrong either way!

Have fun!
