Saw Vettlel on Letterman where he said again how pleasantly surprised he was at the track. Said it was going to be fast and require "Big Balls..." Some local news bimbo was interviewing people who had no idea what F1 was and they were complaining about the intrusion , whiile others were thrilled at the money it was going to bring in. Those who know F1 are already inviting their friends over. The fearful ones don't realize the course will be lined with barriers and complain about safety. It will piss them off even more when the front of their house is blocked with safety barriers. There are side streets that give those houses a means of access and escape. But it will really only be shut down for 3 days during the event. Should be spectacular.

Yes of course, Pat and Leland and Sy seem to have some digs in the area. * ahem *koff* *koff* next june sure seems to be the perfect time for a ROAD TRIP to the big apple an its environs . Gratefully accepting all offers for couchsurfing and other temporary but authentic housing options to sample the local neighborhoods , eatereies, speakeasies & scenery, and be a general nuisance in the paddock.

I love Vettel's personal style-- laid back, un-self-conceited, engaging, friendly. Doesn't look like he's either tortured by inner demons or full of himself at the expense of others. Seems like a guy who'd be fun to hang out with.

Which is why he's such a great good will ambassador and spokesman for the sport.

As opposed to Letterman himself.
