Re: Great Stuff

At a talk he hosted last year reminded PJ of a Car and Driver article he wrote decades ago when he was young, had long hair and didn't wear a helmet. He was documenting a motorcycle journey and discovered small children would convulse in laughter on the interstate if he pulled along side the car they were riding in and by minor adjustment to the toe-in of his legs on the foot pegs could change the airflow over his body to make his long hair shoot straight up or fall back down for no apparent reason. That nicely written mental comedy sequence never left me and when I reminded him of it he smiled, took a long pause and said somewhat wistfully... "That was a long time ago..."

Re: Great Stuff

Nice article. Denise McCluggage had a piece in Autoweek a few months back on thrill seekers vs risk takers that's a nice corrolary.
Also interesting is how people outside our world just don't get it. But then, most folks are down on what they're not up on.
