Guess Who I saw at the Glen

I was at WGI last weekend for the SCCA National and as I exited the track, after qualifying, and making my way back to the trailer as another Watkins Glen MONSTER thunderstorm started to rain down upon us; I noticed between lightening flashes and raindrops......... a familiar racing suit.
Canadian.... I believe.
And a Formula Mazda in the trailer.

GT Subject has once again been allowed into the Continental United States!

And folks, let me tell you..... He is FAST- FAST- FAST in that Formula car.

Hope you had fun Paul. We certainly did!

Good luck in the future and drop back by and see us sometime again.

George

Re: Guess Who I saw at the Glen

Hey George, it was a pleasure to see you and Skip and catch-up on past Skippy days. Your car looks very cool and congrats on your third place (right?)!!!! I was very happy to be back at the Glen, one of my favourite tracks in United States of America (followed very closely by Road America, VIR, Laguna, Road Atlanta and Sebring). We had an awesome time with the Formula Mazda finishing P2, lapping in the low 1:59's - lots of fun. If you get the time, visit my website at www.subjectmotorsports.com or visit our facebook page. Here is an image from Mosport the weekend before. I am looking forward to seeing you all soon.

I saw your website last week Paul, very impressed. I see also you've been a podium regular and that's great !!! 1:59's at the Glen ? That's hauling. Where else will you be racing in the US this year ?

Re: Guess Who I saw at the Glen

Thanks Viz - we are having an absolute blast with the Formula Mazda - a great car, a joy to drive. I may be racing at Grattan the second week of August - that race is currently up in the air as I am racing both the weekend before and after here in Canada. I am currently leading the CASC Formula Libre championship - that is taking priority for this year over the SCCA The plan for next year is concentrate on racing in the SCCA Formual Mazda National class and racing at the Runoffs in September.

Re: Guess Who I saw at the Glen

Yup! Third it was! Very happy with the whole experience! I was just a smidge late to grid because of a minor glitch with the car... So I started DFL. I now enjoy starting last. So many more guys to pass.
The winner of my group was about 7 seconds quicker than me and I only need about 50 more horses to make that up

It was a fun weekend all around. Made nicer by the surprise of seeing old friends.

George
