Any word on the MTV Show filmed at Laguna Seca?

The recent thread on the HiPerf school at Lime Rock made me wonder - what ever happened to that HUGE production MTV did at one of the Western Series race weekends?

I'll see if I can ask Rick Roso - but for those who were NOT there, during on the Laguna Seca race weekends an MTV film crew and team of (I think) 6 women were there for their inaugural race weekend.

Some of the women were good, and had speed (well, faster than me...). However, they did succeed in trashing a bunch of cars, which made it hard on Randy Buck, the crew and the rest of us... our Sportsman Race 2 was something of a demolition derby...

I'll withold criticism, but others might have a different view...

I can't comment on the impact to the race weekend but did hear that an MTV "reality" show was shot there. If that's the case it will likely be many months before the stuff shot actually hits the air.

Production crews will follow a group around for months shooting hundreds of video hours for editing into half hour or one hour bites. Lead time can be anwhere from a few months to a year.

As you suggest, Rick may know their target dates.

The last time I talked to the girls they said that MTV didn't buy the program. I guess it wasn't dramatic enough for them. But they are hoping that someone will buy the film and make a documentary about it. Thats all I know. Rick would have more info.

Thanks Joe, assume you mean "did NOT" buy the program.

Thanks for the update. Glad you're staying in touch with the girls.

Ya to tell you the truth, it was kind of a joke. The production crew was in the way, and quite frankly were rude.
