2005 Turkish GP - (Warning: No Explicit Content!) Picks, Results and Review
It's time for Round 14 on the Grand Prix Calendar, and for the first time ever it's being held in Turkey.
With 6 races remaining to determine who wins the competition (and gets the free lapping day..) this is going to get exciting. The current points differentials are:
For the actual excel spreadsheet itself, you can download it by clicking here.
As always, don't edit or post your picks after the deadline. If you want to change previously made picks, but the system doesn't let you edit your post, just go ahead and reply again with new picks. The new ones will override the old.
Good luck!
Here are the current standings and your current pick totals:
Re: 2005 Turkish GP - Picks are due HERE by 6AM on Saturday August 20
I think this game has lost some of its spirit.
For one it is taking out some of the fun if picks are submitted after Friday practice. It takes out some of the ingenuity of a pick. With the practice results on hand it really more a forecast. F1 geniuses like myself are equalized with those who just read the result tables.
For the other I am personally pissed at Kimi and and Alonso for having scored and not scored in Hockenheim and Hungary exactly opposite to my picks.
I would have won this thing hands down, had it not been for those "mishaps".
Re: 2005 Turkish GP - Picks are due HERE by 6AM on Saturday August 20
But Fry's chocolates is owned by Cadberry's (a British company) so it's not really Turkish. So I searched more and found these authentic candies called "Turkish Delights." But to be honest they did nothing for me....so the search goes on.

So I've dug myself into a bit of a ditch here...picked JPM (and McLaren) in Canada and US (his two "home" races) - DNF, Kimi in Germany - DNF, Alonso in Hungary - DNF. No luck with B drivers either. Terrible.
I'm going with:
Jenson
No Massa
Takusan
BAR
I'd better do well or else I may have to concede...

I just offically registered on the AARP site. I'm now offically old AND stupid!
So I'm on the site this morning (before qualifying) boring my lovely wife with my stupid "turkish delights" postings and paging through the web to actually determine what family tartan she (he? ) has on and I realize I have not picked for the week.
Damn it!
No, no wait...didn't DailyDuo vault to the led while asleep at the wheel (sorry, keyboard) by forgeting to pick?
Oh baby, I'm in like Flint! I'm gonna win this week! I'm going to win agaiin! Just like Pat!

Welcome to the club Donald, you are beginning to cross an important life threshold.
Follow my lead and I'll have you farting through silk pajama's, drinkin' pina colonic's and lowering your lap time's in Ye Ol' RT2000 Jazzy chair at the assisted living facility in no time.
You may have a moment or two at the "Ring" when you don't know what turn you're in. This is quite common. What you may not yet know is that those moments can also include not knowing you're in Germany, who your co-driver is or that you are even driving a damn car. Don't fight it. Enjoy the bliss of a free unencumbered mind Donald, and know that it will only get better as time passes.
The entire city and state of mind called "Cleveland" welcomes you.

There are two race tracks. Mount Trembling... I prematurely apexed there recently.
And Twin Peeks.

Re: 2005 Turkish GP - (Warning: No Explicit Content!) Picks, Results and Review
This week's winner is Badger X3 with 23 points. Congrats to Sid and those three wacky proxy picking kids. Sydude will be preparing his review of this week's competition shortly, partially mimicking our fearless fundraising figurehead. Otherwise, the top 2 stayed the same (girls again) with TOCHO slipping by Ray for 3rd. Sydude kicked some ass (YEAH!) to take 6th, leapfrogging Peter and Jisu and getting within 24 points of the lead.
Here are the position changes, the results and the standings for this week, plus the graph:
Re: 2005 Turkish GP - (Warning: No Explicit Content!) Picks, Results and Review
I hereby demand that all points accumulated prior to the British GP be erased. Only the last four races need to count, thus placing me in my rightful position, the lead.
Can I get a "hell yeah!"?
...
..
.
I'm delerious, I stayed up late (or is it early...?) to see the race live (the GP2 race as well, which was awesomely entertaining). Just ignore me.

Re: 2005 Turkish GP - (Warning: No Explicit Content!) Picks, Results and Review
In regards to Sydude picks--
Freddo = Fernando
CK = CK
Baggy Pants = JV (No Duh)
Rent All = Renault
--
In regards to Badger picks--
JV went out with, became engeged to and then finally dumped Danii Minogue, and if you know ANYTHING about F1, then you'd know that Ojjeh became the majority shareholder in McLaren back in the mid 80's through his company 'Techniques d'Avant Garde', hence TAG/McLaren.

By both accounts, I have to think that my fellow Canadian is more than a little loopy. I mean, forget the baggy pants that the guy could fit into twice, but dumping a Minogue sister. Oh my. But then he's got another--what is this, four or five?--fiancée these days.

So go jump in a bunch of lakes.
I couldn't care less about a drivers romantic involvement (I'll renew your subscription to Tiger Beat when it expires)
HOWEVER, there is a serious problem when referring to Ojjeh's old team. As anyone who knows ANYTHING about F1 knows, He and TAG were behind the WILLIAMS F1 team prior to McLaren. Obviously Badger's pick for constructor was WILLIAMS netting him a robust 7 points. Perhaps you should be more careful when handling someone else's choices. Poor Badger, and after all he's done to help promote this website, and you say Duh to me...tsk tsk.
Re: 2005 Turkish GP - (Warning: No Explicit Content!) Picks, Results and Review
CDH, again you are incorrect. Ojjeh's TAG was only a SPONSOR of Williams, and not an owner, as opposed to his involvement with McLaren. BIG difference. Nice try, though.

Yes, it was a good try but as I have said, you are crafty.
Has my point hit home yet? Will you please post your picks so we can all understand them without doing research on driver's bedroom exploits?

Sy, if you were a man of character, then your reply would have been:

Yes, you are both right. I'm sorry (not).
So, I will henceforth ban any and all picks on this site which are not entered in the correctly coded format. Any extraneous characters, images, freestlye prose or otherwise creative compositions will be deleted and/or summarily rejected. Repeat violators will be tarred and feathered.
Depending on how this goes, I will carry these new rules into the rest of the forum, with all posts having to conform to similarly strict composition requirements.

You are off the a bad start
you still haven't recognized the correct scoring of my picks......if you need help deciphering my code, send in 6 boxtops from Doug E - O's cereal and you will receive your secret decoder RING (allow 4-6 years for delivery)
PS - I enjoy clever, well constructed pick representations like macdod's, fittle, def, etc............it's just SOME of them are incoherent drivel that lead to misunderstandings and confusion, ahem.
Re: 2005 Turkish GP - (Warning: No Explicit Content!) Picks, Results and Review
If I'm not mistaken, that is either the "One too many fingers" or the "Go fork yourself" salute.

Re: 2005 Turkish GP - (Warning: No Explicit Content!) Picks, Results and Review
Between the time I saw Donald's post and created my observation, Doug beat me to the punch and resolved things into the single digit mode requiring no translation. Well done Doug.
