HANS Sliding Tether

Just wondering if anybody has tried the sliding tether system on their Hans device - - the regular tether seemed fine in the RT2000 but I'm planning on trying the MX5 car and wondered if more head movement would be beneficial.

thanks,
Steve

You clearly don't go off track enough! In all seriousness, the only time I ever noticed my HANS was in those awkward moments re-entering the track... with the new system, there is no such issue. I love it. Worth all $75...

Re: HANS Sliding Tether

Didn't know about the sliding tether until seeing this thread. Just looked it up HANS Sliding Tether

Looks pretty simple to install. I've got one of the older models but it looks like it can be upgraded as well.

I agree that in the RT's there are very few situations where you're aware of the tether limitation and with the sliding tether it all becomes a non-issue. Clever upgrade. Bravo to HANS for building the even better mouse trap and making it adaptable to most previous models.

Get it, well worth the time and money. Not sure why they didn't make it that way to begin with.

Absolutely, Rob. I retrofitted mine and it's an easy deal. I find it's most useful when navigating the paddock.

People buying new ones can now choose the sliding tether when they order, I'm just glad they continued to improve the product.

Cool Re: HANS Sliding Tether

Absolutely a good buy. I installed a HANS last year after contact with a tire wall at the Glen gave me a scare and a concussion and would not feel dressed without it. With the sliding tether you rarely realize you are wearing the device.

Re: HANS Sliding Tether

We're back from our Sebring MX5 race weekend - - great fun, although more time in those cars would have been helpful - - as far as the sliding tethers, I'm really happy with them and recommend them 110%.
