Laguna Seca December

I just signed up for the Western race at Laguna Seca in December, but I'm going by myself, and I have no way of getting from place to place. Would anybody be willing to coordinate travel plans so I could hitch a ride?

Thanks
Charles

Charles:
I arrive at SFO airport on Thursday at 4:01pm; leaving monday from SFO at 9:35am; I am staying at Embassy Suite, Seaside [just next to Monterrey]. Be happy to help you if these work for you. Dom Bastien.

I know nobody asked me, but it might be a good idea if Charles does the driving.

Re: Laguna Seca December

Haha thanks guys,

Something isn't right when a 13 year old can win a car race but you need to be 25 to rent a car . Either our insurance companies need to relax or we need to work on our public transportation...

I'm planning on doing a lapping day, so I'll fly in on Wednesday, probably to SFO. Is anybody doing the same?

Thanks

Re: Laguna Seca December

I'm doing the Laguna December weekend starting with lapping Thurs AM; flying in somewhere (SFO, SJC, MRY tbd) on Weds night. Staying at Embassy Suites. I am sure we can get you a ride, or get you around. There will be plenty of rides available to/from the track; getting you down there might be the worst part. If you fly into SFO, consider a commuter flight into MRY; the fare might be cheaper than just landing at SFO (don't ask, but it's true).

I think I need to conduct further research into the matter before publishing a formal opinion.

I think they should make the cut-off age 60.

Re: Laguna Seca December

I just made flight and hotel reservations, I'm flying directly to and from Monterey so I don't need to hitchhike from San Fansisco, and I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express at Monterey Bay, which according to Google Earth is on the same block as Embassey Suites. So all I need is a ride to and from the track.

Re: Laguna Seca December

Charles,

I am curious. Was the airfare from Pittsburgh to Monterey cheaper than airfare from Pittsburgh to SFO?

Re: Laguna Seca December

On travelocity it's about $100 cheaper to go to SanFran, but I just bought straight from USAir and its like $20 less to go to Monterey. I don't think I'll ever understand the travel industry.
