Pay Attention Dalyduo

Homeless man or a very clever sales pitch? Good for him in any case...may be a face for radio, but def a broadcast worthy voice.

Re: Pay Attention Dalyduo

Based on this guy, my immediate career plans include drinking, drugs and homelessness. Yeah... that's the ticket!

My understanding is he's received twenty job offers and they are bidding for his services. No doubt agents and lawyers are already involved.

Re: Pay Attention Dalyduo

I heard on the news and on the radio tonight that he's been given a job as an announcer and voice over/promo guy with the Cleveland Cavaliers and that they've also found him a place to live and are paying the rent/mortgage. I guess the Cavs called in to a radio show he was a guest on this morning.

If Ted and his story doesn't make you feel good... nothing will. Makes you give thanks and realize how fortunate we are. Great story.

Absolutely right Pat, it's nice to know there are still some magic moments in everday life.

BTW, have you staked out your exit ramp yet ?

Re: Pay Attention Dalyduo

Spent all morning at the 96th Street exit of the West Side Highway. Made $17.32 from people who asked me NOT to talk.
I'm now accepting donations from those here who would prefer me not to write.

Pat - I am thinking a sign on the side of the road somewhere in Manhattan "Excellent Voice Over Man Seeks Stimulating Gig", you could have a very cool out-of-control wig, funky street clothes and a sandwich board - has potential, huh?

All kidding aside, what a great story, it reallly shows the power of the internet and specifically YouTube to create interest in storyies that would otherwise go untold.

Age-old joke modified for this situation "Who gave you the 2 cents Pat?" Pat's reply "Everybody".

Re: Pay Attention Dalyduo

I can't hold a candle to Ted's pipe's. He's got vocal chords to die for. If I had pipes like those I'd be elbowing James Earl Jones out of jobs and racing in Grand-Am every week. He'll do real well for certain kinds of things and should get a huge bounce from all this publicity if he doesn't blow up from the attention. I think he's getting psychological support from one of the Today Show psychologists and others are managing his offers so there's a fair chance he'll be ok. He's got a bunch of grown kids (9) who are hoping he does the right thing, though his 92 year old mom doesn't seem to have much faith in him. She's a tough old bird. Quite a story though.

Re: Pay Attention Dalyduo

There was a guy at WNEW in the '60s named George Reading. When he spoke, you could feel the vibrations through your socks.
This guy is very close.
