Actually, Donald, you have inspired me for next season (I am serious about this). The official rules state, in relevant part,
"Every weekend, you pick Two Tier 'A' drivers, Two Tier 'B' drivers and One 'Team' each weekend. You can only pick each driver and each team SIX (6) times. You can pick any driver that is competing that weekend."
There seems to be no prohibition against picking the same driver twice, and there certainly was a week when a MS MS FM FM FER combo would have racked up major points. Hmmmm. It's all a matter of timing. (Sy, have you played around with this idea in your computer program?)

Re: Round #18 - '06 Fantasy F1 - Brazilian GP @ Interlagos - Picks due 1PM Sat Oct 21st
Like you said, the rules state that "Every weekend, you pick Two Tier 'A' drivers", but that means you must make two independent driver picks. It does NOT say in any way that you can make the same pick twice.
As this year format (6 picks from 6 drivers for 36 spots) was totally new, this problem was unfortunately unforseen. I apologize about that. But there ain't a whole lot anyone can do about it now to make it fair.
So the interpretation of the rules (unless I get a unanimous vote to the contrary, my own excepted) is that you can only pick the same driver once for each race.

Unfortunately, DQ for the offending Tier A Pick. Again, I have no problem changing the rules (or the interpretation of them) if everyone agrees.

just jokin' there Dude-ster
One thing needs to be said here that is not recognized enough. Sy puts in a lot of time keeping this game going, keeps track of all the numbers, goes above and beyond with the all the data sheets so we can see info we ordinarily wouldn't, etc. The Yahoo version was good, this is better........so what if his family does well every time????
Thanks bud

My tires are spent...
My fuel is but fumes...
and...
I have no more picks...
I was hoping we'd just end it after last week but, alas, I don't think JSV will agree...
So, here go...
Half Schumacher - RS (and, since I still have two halves, if CDH and Macdod win their case, I'll use both "Halfs" - in fact, I'd trade my two Halfs for one Whole Schumacher (Michael that is )
Rue Bends Over A Cello (RB)

Thank you Sy for putting this together and for your third consecutive podium in three years!
JSV come out, come out, who ever you are!
P.S. PREDICTION: Kimi (the guy who lost me this this year's title) will "lock up" the 2007 world title next year by the 10th round.

Re: Round #18 - '06 Fantasy F1 - Brazilian GP @ Interlagos - Picks due 1PM Sat Oct 21
As a first time racer I sure learned a bunch about how the game is played, but it probably won't change a thing.
Wow! GMG321 got 39 points in Brazil - amazing!
I also want to thank the responsible parties for doing all the effort - it made the real races less boring to follow - although there were some good ones this season.
Finally, as the first-loser in the also-ran class, I appreciate the extra effort put toward keeping us back-markers interested by making us feel wanted. I'll do my best to stay out of this group next time.

Re: Round #18 - '06 Fantasy F1 - Brazilian GP @ Interlagos - Picks due 1PM Sat Oct 21st
Hi All,
After letting my picks do all the talking during the year, I guess it's time to say a few words to wrap up the season.
I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the 2006 Fantasy F1 contest. Going into the last several rounds of the season, I thought I had a good chance of finishing up on the podium, but was pleasantly surprised at finishing up on top (by a fairly healthy margin over second place.... ).
Consistency throughout the season was my saving grace. I do not believe I ever had the highest score for a round during the year, but even when I needed to take RS or JPM, my Group B or Team picks were able to keep me in contention. As the contest progressed through the year, I was surprised to find myself becoming more concerned with how my picks were doing in the race, rather than how the people I actually wanted to win were performing!
I only became familiar with the Teamjuicyracing.com web site at the beginning of the year. While searching around on the web for thoughts/recommendations on a new helmet for the upcoming driving season,(I only participate in Driver Education type events with the Audi and Porsche clubs) I came across the Driver's Gear equipment forum on the site. Little did I know, that later in the year I would be the sites Fantasy F1 contest champion!
A huge thank you to Sy for the fantastic job he does running this affair. I can't imagine the time and effort is must take to manage the contest, especially on those short back to back race weekends - well done!
Thanks again, and remember, there are only 143 days until your picks are due for the 2007 Australian Grand Prix!

CDH,
I live in Richfield, OH (Northeastern Ohio -- just south of Cleveland). I frequent MidOhio, but Nelson Ledges, Beaverun, and Waterford Hills are also tracks that I've driven on.
Sy,
With following the Browns, Cavs, and Indians, I am very familiar with those "Wait till next year" statements.

What tiebreaker would you propose? How about of individual weekends won/tied to win?
I'm ok with joint second place if you are... I just wanted to beat JJ!

Joint 2nd place it is, then. Congrats to you, and to me as well!

P18 to P5 in four weeks was a fun if failed run... The US Grand Prix was, once again, my undoing. If Turkey had yielded say 16 instead of 6 and the USGP had given up just 14 we'd have made a horse race of it. Ah well... (If pigs could fly...) So it goes.
Great job Sy & Julia.
Congratulations to JSV, Tomahawk, Sy, and Julia Bravo and Brava!
