Pat Daly and Al Carter in Racer Magazine

This month's issue of Racer magazine arrived today, and on the Skippy news page there are photos of Pat Daly (in helmet -- so a plug for TJR) and Al Carter (on the podium hoisting yet another platter). Nice write-up too. Not sure who the 40-something referenced in the article is, but maybe he's good too.

Re: Pat Daly and Al Carter in Racer Magazine

Finally got my issue of RACER mag yesterday. I was very impressed and pleased to see Pat in the BIG picture.

I was pleased with the article too, until, I got the true meaning of the article. They were saying the young guns were not able to race because of their age. Alas, the SLOW OLD GUYS were able to grab some podium time only because the KART KIDS were not able to attend because of their age!

Well, here is what I say to that! Pffffffffffffftttttttttttt! We'll take it any way were can get it! Old age and treachery.........

My subscription lapsed a while ago so if someone could hold on to their copy... I'd love to see it.

Thanks!

Pat

Consider it done. My pleasure. Do you want it laminated, but the way?

I don't get Racer either. Would someone be kind enough to scan the pic and post it? I couldn't find it on the website.

Re: Pat Daly and Al Carter in Racer Magazine

A special shout out to "WatertownNewbie" for sending along his pristine copy of RACER Magazine. Just found it in my mailbox...

Much appreciated Ted.

Rick got it right. Some of the young fast kids don't make the age cut at The Glen so the competition is a bit less thick with under 18 year old karting wonders. :-) Despite Rick's alluding to a "bunch" of young guns who didn't make The Glen this year, I don't think it was more than a couple... And it's not like the rest of the field pulled over so the old guys with their blinkers on could drive past!

Hey... At my age I'm happy to be racing anywhere!

I'm a bit behind the technology curve... No scanner Anyone else with a current Racer Magazine have a scanner?

Re: Pat Daly and Al Carter in Racer Magazine

David Cheng cracks me up. This is his first year in Skip, he is all of 19, and pretty quick (if you give him the right car ). I met him for the first time at the Glen where he was surprised to know my age and told me that he was amazed that old guys could be fast. That was all the incentive I needed to show him a thing or two through the Carousel.
