This year, in Australia, Juan Pablo sported the new Oakley race boot for their first official F1 outing. The boots have been in development for over a year and Juan has had a substantial input through- out the entire design process. These boots are about as high tech as race boots get. The sole has been designed to absorb vibration yet give outstanding pedal feel. The upper, premium fire resistant leather, pays particular attention to ankle articulation to ensure comfort even after hours of driving. But the Ôpiece de resistanceÕ with these boots is the patented Carbon X lining, a soft fireproof lining which will withstand the heat from a blowtorch. Add a Teflon liner to the foot bed and your have a built in heat shield to round off a boot that not only looks great but most importantly, will function and perform and give unparrelled levels of protection.
