Carter to Continental Series in Grand-Am for 2010
Carter Race Plans 2010
fficeffice" /> To all my friends at Skip Barber, I have signed on with Stevenson Motorsports out of North Carolina, to run their #9 Sunoco Camaro with co-driver Hugh Plumb in 2010 Continental Grand-Am series. Not sure if anyone has seen any picture of the new Sunoco Camaro, but if it runs half as good as it looks, we’re in for a great season. It was a chance meeting in November at a track day at NJMP, to a test invite at VIR, to running the whole season as part of their 2 Sunoco Camaro GS cars. Very cool how it all came together quickly. Now we’re heading to Daytona for the season opener January 29th. Wish me luck! I’m a little bummed that I won’t be enjoying the Skippy season in 2010, but I am going to try and do both the Skippy National event and the Continental race at ffice:smarttags" />Homestead. If the logistics work out smooth enough at Homestead I'll run both series when the weekends race together. Also, bummed there is no Tremblant on the Summer schedule, had planned on taking the whole Carter Family up for some race and luge action. Maybe I’ll have to take a trip up to Canada, just to get kicked off the luge and keep the Skippy tradition alive! But I’ll try and work on Plan B. Is the Siebkens on the schedule? Good luck to all, Al Carter

Reason: Fixed typo in title... "Series" had a typo
Re: Carter to Continental Seies in Grand-Am for 2010
Al-- great news!! I'll be watching closely and pulling hard for you. What a great opportunity. I will miss you on the Skippy circuit. You were so consistent last year, you were a source of inspiration for me to keep working hard.
Unfortunately Road America nixed this year as well. I imagine previous management rubbed them the wrong way- no surprise. I am hoping that current leadership can salvage the relationship for coming seasons. What a loss that is-- I am going to seriously miss my Siebken's fix.
Best of luck and I am sure you will be on the pace in no time. Rock and roll.

That "chance" meeting cost a pretty penny Al but worth every cent as we look forward to reading about your success in Grand-Am next year rather than chasing you around Skippy regional events. Getting Dom into Star Mazda wasn't easy either....
Will truly miss recreating our "I'll Be Blocking You" chorus at next years banquet.
Kidding aside... Hope you'll share your season in Grand-Am with us on a regular basis. We'd love to know your experience of the cars, tracks and other competitors compared to the Skippy experience.
Best of luck and give 'em hell.
Pat

Come on over and say hey! I'll be down with the #14 autometrics team for the 24. I'll be hitting you up to drive with us at the 24 next year.
Talk with you soon

Al's starting 25th and Todd and Scotty Panzer start 27th. That'll be a fun battle to watch. Camaro vs Mustang
