Lime Rock July 2014
Who is going to the LRP race weekend next weekend?
According to the Skippy website, the MX-5 side is sold out, but there are still 26 seats available in the formula cars.

I'll be there. I know Bill Shields will also, Gus too. Chris B. won't though.
Let's hear it for the Masters run group !!

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
There are no MX-5's at Lime Rock this race weekend. Just open wheel cars.
I'll be there all week with the fast old slow guys. :-)

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
I'm sorry I missed you at the track today, Pat! I saw RB and Jason, found dad at his car, waved to Corey, and went upstairs to find you, but instead found Trevor up in the classroom.
Trevor told me that they'd cancelled the MX-5 side because of the Mosport weekend. The website just hasn't been updated.
I'm going to be in PA for the next few weeks, but I *might* be able to make it back for the weekend.

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
I'm planning to drive up on Saturday to catch the races at LRP. What is the schedule? I can't find it posted anywhere on the Skippy site. I'm driving 3 hours and don't want to arrive as everything ends. Does anyone have any information. Thanks.

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
Well, the cars can be on track starting at 9:00am. It's a small race weekend, so I wouldn't expect it to go very late into the day each day.
Thursday
Practice
Friday
Morning Qualifying
Afternoon Races
Saturday
Morning Races (If there are only a few groups, they *may* do qualifying for the Saturday races on Saturday morning, otherwise, you start in the position you finished in on Friday.)
*Maybe* a Memorial?
Pat would have more info.

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
There are only 2 race groups. Skinny weekend, and for some reason, Friday is stacked with the second qualifying for Saturdays races
On Friday, the current order of things is:
- Qualifying - Group 1
- Group 1 Race 1
- Qualifying - Group 2
- Group 2 Race 1
- Qualifying Group 1 (for Race 2)
- Qualifying Group 2 (for Race 2)
Saturday
- Group 1 Race 2
- Group 2 Race 2

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
The weekend's schedule has been tweaked.
They ran a Memorial today (Thursday), which is weird, because it was a practice day, and not everyone shows up to those.
They are doing two qualifying sessions and two races on Friday.
They have MOVED the second qualifying sessions to Saturday.
So there will be 4 sessions on Friday and 4 sessions on Saturday.

We're going to miss you too Bob...
We just got notice that Skip Barber has ceased operations at Laguna Seca.
Wonder what they'll do about the second Laguna Race weekend scheduled at the end of August?

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
Bob, where are you going? Or has something also happened at Lime Rock ?
Pat, was this LS thing expected/hinted at? This will be a big discussion topic at Putnam this week for sure !

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
Bob's not going anywhere in that he's still Mr. Survive The Drive and regular pace car driver at Lime Rock. He's just not instructing for Skip Barber.
Had no prior knowledge of the Laguna situation other than they were no longer getting discount rates for the days they used at the track and had to pay up front for those days.

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
It's my understanding that going forward there will be no home base tracks other than Atlanta. The shop at Sebring, the shop in B Paddock at Lime Rock and the shop and classroom at Laguna are all going away.
All race weekends at those tracks will be managed out of trailers as they are now at tracks that don't have home bases like Mid-O, Road America etc.

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
I worked for Lime Rock today on a coached autocross event. SBRS is moving stuff out of 'B' paddock. Prior to my leaving there was no information coming from the SBRS office on what was to happen; moving, cancellations, staffing, deposits, payroll. Although it looks like there is a plan, I hadn't been told, adding to the fiscal frustrations I had experienced.

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
The plan as I understand it is they are pulling out of all their base tracks except Atlanta. They will still run programs at Lime Rock and Sebring etc. out of trailers as they do at Mid-O and Road America but they won't spend money on garage rent.
That's all I know.

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
Nothing's moving out of Lime Rock yet, nobody's there to do it at the moment (after a driving school Monday, the crew went to Putnam while I've worked at Thompson the last three days). Will work for the track tomorrow, back to Thompson for the weekend, and then SBRS has four days' worth of track activity next week. Four the following week as well.

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
Looks like SBRS pulled the trigger on MRLS. I just got an email from them indicating that Summer Series Rounds 11 & 12 will be held at Thunderhill Raceway Park on Sept 2-4. Since the original dates were Aug 26-28 at MRLS that will impact anyone who had already made travel plans.

Re: Lime Rock July 2014
Know people who paid for travel, lodging and ancillary plans while there. Bad situation for them.
They remain in B-paddock at Lime Rock. No one seems to have a time table on if or when that could change.
