I was messing around with the site (again) and decided to try the original 'postbit' style for a change. You'll notice immediately the difference between them. Please let me know which one you like more.

The one we've been using for a long time is a single column format, with the user's info above the post:

And the one that's on now is a double column format, with the user's info on the left of the post:

I still like the horizontal single line. I think its visually cleaner and draws your eye more naturally than the vertical double column.

Single column for me too. On short posts, there is little wasted space either way, but on a long post, such as Michael's recount of his booty war and subsequent rise from the soaked ashes, there would be a lot of empty space in the left-hand column.

ok, we'll go back to the original postbit. I like it better the old way too.

Actually, it does seem to accommodate images better--the wider column of the post's contents, that is.

ok, not to start another hullabaloo, but did this format change a bit. It seems to be compressed versus what it used to look like. That is, there is a blue border on BOTH sides of each post which I don't remember existing before.

I'll go clear out my cache, increase my RAM and ROM, write some new code, and make an offering to the electronic Gods. Back in a minute.
