Skippy New Driver School

Nice article in the Sunday New York Times that features the Skippy New Drivers School. Bob Green has a foundation and he personally does a super job speaking to teens in an engaging and entertaining talk that brings home the realities and responsibilities of driving. If you have or know a teen approaching driving age or has just begun to drive, you couldn't make a better investment than sending them to a new drivers school with Skippy and Bob. This is the training every driver should have before they get a license and keys to a car.

Here we have a young separated-at-birth Jason Holehouse look-a-like killing a few cones affectionately named puppy, squirrel and Little Orphan Annie.

Re: Skippy New Driver School

As I have said before on this site. I credit this program with saving my daughter a bent fender, crash damage or worse. Maybe even a life. Before she took the class she thought she was better than Danica. Most of the class, (when asked before actual driving) said they were either GOOD drivers or ADVANCED drivers.
After 7 hours learning the ropes, my daughter came away with the best attitude; "When I came here I thought 'this is a waste of time, I already know how to drive!.' " On the ride home she said " I am a better driver than when I came but I now know I have a lot to learn!"
Thanks guys. You made her a believer. What I didn't count on was: you stuck that needle in when I wasn't looking. Now she wants 4 years of College @UVM and racing classes!!! Thanks

Re: Skippy New Driver School

I was fortunate to have given my daughter the 3-day racing school for her 30th birthday and she was well and truly humbled. On the plus side, what she becomes motivated to do beyond that is her and her husband's problem.

Re: Skippy New Driver School

Definitely a smart move to wait until your daughter was 30 before putting her in a race car. At that age, they no longer think that money just falls out of the sky and into their parent's wallet.
