new racer/member

Going to Skippy School at Lime Rock next week to get a jump on learning to race. I have been doing HPDE in my '04 350 z and ready to go the next step so the SCHOOL and just purchased a 944 cup car already race prepped so the Z can be my weekend car. Started this adventure in March at Sebring and fell in love with the sport and since been to Homestead and Palm Beach Intl raceway.
Have several friends highly recommend SBS so I signed up for the 3 day MX5 school - I'm 6'3" 270 lbs. so it is going to be interesting.

Found the forum thru the Skippy school acknowledgment.

Going to race the 944 cup car and look to build a Spec Z car as well. Have 2 sons interested in racing as well so the 944 should get good action. Spec Z is a new class in NASA supported by Nissan and BFG.

I own a 40 year old generator business and am enjoying the empty nest - 3 sons 26 ,22, 18. Love boating, sailing, diving and now the challenge of road racing!

Welcome! I'm also new here. Appears you've gotten the bug.

Sounds like you're from FL...and, while I've never driven at Sebring, I love going to the 12 hours. Enjoy the 944...hopefully we'll be swapping paint on the track some day.

PS - post up some pictures of the cars!

Welcome aboard. Always glad to see new members and like to see the Florida section grow. I live in Hollywood Florida.

I find the Team Juicy to be the best group of ambassadors for Skip Barber and the unsung heroes of the sport.

Look forward to meeting you one day (and David as well).

Re: new racer/member

Welcome aboard and thanks for the pics. They do have "big boy" cars with seats positioned to accommodate big and tall drivers so you should be fine. Smart move doing the school before putting your own cars at risk. Always wise to develop your craft before putting your own stuff on track.

Keep us posted going forward.

Wow...nice cars! If you ever need a co-driver for that 944 I might know someone who would be interested.
