What does the "GM" after some names stand for?

That's an awful weight to put on somebody just for being over 50!

I mean, I'm just starting and if I do contest a Skippy race, I have to be tagged with "Grand Master" my first time out???

For you, we can make it Supreme Master. That way there is no pressure.

How about "OG" for "Old Guy"...

...or perhaps "OF" (I'll leave that to your imagination).

Alan,
I didn't set foot in a race car until I was a Grand Master so no sympathy here. You can make it work for you as every time you pass someone younger you know they look at the scoring sheet afterwards and think, "Oh crap, that old guy just beat me?! I better up my game!" There's no shame in being beaten by fast young kids or masters racers and only glory when you beat them... So wear the monicker proudly. The two biggest trophies on my filing cabinet are Grand Masters Champ trophies. Hate to tell you how much they cost but wouldn't trade them for anything.

I'm currently vying for a Great Grand Master category for those of us young enough to be in our 6th decade. :-)

I'm in. Maybe there should be a GGGM too.

Well like you, I didn't set foot in a race car until I was over 50 myself, but hopefully, qualifying for the Skip Barber IndyCar Academy Shootout will help me live up to the "Grand Master" title.

I'M GOING TO SEBRING FOR THE SKICAS!

Did you have a damage incident at your two-day school? I remember reading (and being told by Evan when he was still at SB) that any incident causing damage would be a dealbreaker. I could have my bench racing stories confused. So many in my head...

I don't know what the rules are...

...but they've told me I'm in and I'm running with that.
