Arai GP-5K helmet for sale
Continued woes from my pursuit of the right sized helmet!
See this link for model details http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/helmet/araiGP5k.asp- size Large (see Arai sizing chart on attached link)
- color white
- standard clear shield
- Arai helmet sock included
I had this helmet in my possession for over a week in order to get sufficient "wear time" and ultimately determined that it was just too small for me. During that time I installed HANS device anchors to assess the fit with my new HANS unit and other gear.
When I installed the anchors, I tore (very slight about an inch long) the lining material that covers the neck-roll padding. Speedware cannot take the helmet back as they cannot sell it "as new" with this tear. I took the anchors off and installed them on the size XL that ultimately was the right fit. However, when I took the anchors off it was revealed that a tiny bit of the threadlocker provided by HANS wept out between the anchor and the helmet surface. This stuff caused a slight discoloration of the helmet (pale blue) on both sides. This discoloration will be completely covered by HANS anchors so is only an aesthetic problem if someone did not intend to either use HANS or paint the helmet.
Hell of a sob story, right? Anyway, I own it even though I can't wear it because it is too small. Helmet never left the house and certainly was never dropped or used in a racecar. Shield still has the protective film on it. Cost new from the dealer is $699.00. I'll sell it for half price ($350) to a Team Juicy loyalist! PM me if interested.

Re: Arai GP-5K helmet for sale
I've split off all of the fun 'if you turn any earlier' stuff into it's own thread, to preserve the purpose of this thread (which is to sell his helmet!).
For the old thread, here's the link with all the fun stuff in it:
http://www.teamjuicyracing.com/forum...read.php?t=800
Please use this current one for any discussions about his helmet.

Re: Arai GP-5K helmet for sale
So I'm assuming it's a SNELL SA00 - right?? I might be in the market, just not sure I want to buy a SA00 or go for a SA06 - - I'll have to check on the size too.

Re: Arai GP-5K helmet for sale
I think he sold it to someone on the site during the race weekend at Mid-Ohio in September.
