Re: Sprinter vans gone, new sneak peak..
And I got a speeding ticket in a sprinter. Just think what I could do with that!

Re: Sprinter vans gone, new sneak peak..
Yup. 1958 at Indy, backing up for Freddie Agabasian to go out to qualify just before the fired the gun at 6 PM Sunday. 1956 Kuzma that Bob Sweikert drove to 6th despite blowout in turn 2. Johnny Thompson had gone 2 mph faster than needed to qualify before qualifying the new '58 Kurtis, so car was fast enough. Agabasian was barely fast enough first two laps, then faded badly and retired after that effort.
Great times.

Wow! Forty-eight and a half years later and you haven't changed a bit.

Very cool John,
Both of you would enjoy (along with any other racing history fans) Chris Economaki's book "Let 'Em All Go!" A wonderful journey through the rise of auto racing in this country from a wiley enthusiast with a unique point of view. Very entertaining read. Economaki was probably there that day in '58

Chris was there with his National Speed Sport News and you're right, his book is a great read.
