Western Only in India

As an immigrant to this country, I have heard the exclamation "Only In America!" from my parents for as long as I can remember. It expresses the spontaneous wonder, amazement, and humor elicited by things that can only happen in the uniquely creative and multidimensionally open and accepting American mind in which anything is possible, anything can happen, and frequently does. Well, I've decided to start my own personal list of "Only In India" because we too, have a unique energy and creatively warped and quirky world view. The following has absolutely nothing to do with racing, but it was too funny not to share here. We need something to make us smile in this sad time. Plus I never get on FB.

The citizen rising to the occasion and inspiring the civic sense of passersby is a well-known emblem of Western individual initiative, I've seen that numerous times. But for the robbers to be so fearful of being lynched as to call the police to bail themselves out? That I've never heard of anywhere.

It occurred to me that when Bernie Madoff turned himself in to the police he was figuring that he was less likely to run into personal problems while in their custody than he might be in starting his own car, sitting in front of an open window, or doing any number of other things that might have exposed him to the wrath of those he swindled.

Re: Only in India

This guy reached a similar conclusion. He just had to do it all himself.

Re: Only in India

oldred, that is f-in hilarious.

Wish that guy in Delhi had webcams in his house. And I'd love to hear the audio of the 911 call.

Re: Only in India

good one Old Red - shopping cart shot is a hall of famer, as is the 2nd fall onto bottles. How considerate of this knucklehead to come in for his close-up (and miss the CCTV cam with the bottle)
